Rather than debate how our economic system has transitioned into plutocracy, Republicans have decided to make the "Ground Zero Mosque" demagoguery into an election campaign.

Question for Republicans: how far should the anti-mosque area around the World Trade Center site extend? The new cause celebre for Republicans is that it should be larger than two blocks. Should it be a half-mile? One mile? Two miles? Five miles? Ten miles?

Are there any other areas in America where freedom of religion should be abolished for a particular minority?
